NDRC Accelerator Cohort 2023

At a time with so much macro uncertainty there is one thing that always gets me excited about the future — the launch of a new NDRC Accelerator cohort at Dogpatch Labs. Twice a year we recruit for the next wave of startup founders who we believe have the ability to create the high growth companies of the future. There is always fierce competition for places and this year is no exception with almost 400 startups competing for just 7 highly coveted spots. The level of talent continues to impress and it always makes me wish we could bring more founders along with us.

After much deliberation, I am delighted to announce the seven companies in the first NDRC accelerator cohort of 2023. Coming from diverse sectors including robotics, high performance enginering, artificial intelligence, healthcare, last mile delivery and cybersecurity, these founding teams have already shown a unique insight into their markets and strong customer validation which we believe will ultimately make them successful. So, here they are…….

Airbotics

Airbotics is on a mission to bring more robots into the world by making it easier to build, test and ship software to them. Founded in 2022, Airbotics is building an open-source software deployment platform that works for the software and hardware used in robotics. Users connect their code, provision their robots and orchestrate how and when their code should be deployed — securely, robustly, and efficiently. They help roboticists build robots — not infrastructure.

Anneal

Anneal builds software that helps engineers accelerate product development and improve the performance of physical systems — whether they’re racing cars or rocket engines. Anneal’s engineer-focused platform helps join the dots between teams, sites, systems, and technical disciplines. Practically, they help engineers to plan and track their work, communicate and collaborate, and both capture and analyse the large quantities of data generated by modern engineering teams.

Ceartas

Ceartas (pronounced Car-tas for those non-native Irish speakers) uses sophisticated web crawling technology married with proprietary AI and machine learning techniques to constantly scan the web for unauthorised uses of your copyrighted content, brand identity, media, and intellectual property.

Cytidel

Cytidel is a cybersecurity software that helps organisations to consolidate their vulnerability management and prioritise fixing the vulnerabilities that matter most, first. Cytidel combines vulnerability management with Threat Intelligence, leading industry data points, and Cytidel’s own proprietary contextual algorithm to give you an up-to-date data driven risk score helping prioritise your most important assets and potential breach risks.

Habitus Health

Habitus an AI powered application that can ergonomically risk assess employees from any location in minutes, then recommend corrective actions based on real-time data. The algorithm optimises workplace health to provide companies with a more productive, engaged workforce, empowering employees to prevent the pain and discomfort caused by sitting poorly for long periods. Product is live with strong customer traction.

Shuppa

Shuppa is Ireland’s first on-demand grocery retailer, offering customers access to 2,000 of their favourite products and delivered in 15 minutes or less. Shuppa can offer ultra-responsive delivery times (15 minutes) and hyper-accurate order fulfilment rates (>98%) by keeping inventory close to customers in a network of micro-fulfilment hubs. Shuppa’s more efficient overhead structure compared to traditional in-store retail allows it to tap into a greater margin pool, which can then be used to offer better prices to customers, perpetuating the virtuous cycle.

Weeve

Weeve is a language learning edtech startup. Weeve integrates foreign words into your native tongue so you can learn a language by reading what you want, in the most seamless and enjoyable way possible! Every day you can immerse yourself in a new world from Romeo & Juliet to Quantum Physics and seamlessly learn a new language while doing so!

What happens next?

These seven companies will now undergo an intensive three month programme, exposing them to a wide variety of stress testing and support from both the in house NDRC team and our dozens of mentors, investors and experts.

They receive €100k investment on our SAFE instrument and will get a years membership in the epicentre of Irish entrepreneurship, Dogpatch Labs. I am also delighted that Philip Reynolds (ex VP Engineering at Workday), Maria McMenamin (previously VP of Sales at Pitch) and Mark Cummins (Co-Founder of Pointy) have agreed to be the entrepreneurs in residence for this cohort adding an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise.

We will continue to keep you updated on their progress and look forward to welcoming everyone to Demo Day so you can meet these amazing founders and see what they are building first hand.
